No, becasue of PEMDAS
so parenthasees first
exponents next
mulitplciation next

(-2)^4=-2 times -2 times -2 times -2=positive number since even number of negative signs

-2^4=-1 times 2^2=-1 times 2 times 2 times 2 times 2=negative number since odd number of negative signs

They are not equivalent.
because (-2)^4 is in the parenthesis so the - before 2 are together and both will go to the 4 power so the answer will be: (-2)^4 = 16
but the other one is not in the parenthesis so the - will not go to the 4 power and the answer will be: -2^4 = -16
so 16 is not equivalent to -16 :)))
i hope this is helpful

Step-by-step explanation:

At an aquarium, a shrimp if fed 1/5 gram of food each feeding and is fed 3 times each day. What is the constant of proportionality and what does it tell us about the situation?

So, We know the shrimp is fed 1/5 gram of food each feeding, And we know the shrimp is fed 3 times each day.

Now, We need to answer the question, What is the constant of proportionality and what does it tell us about the situation?

Please help me solve this for 15 points!

-x2 + 4x - 54 = 0
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

x1 =2-5i*sqrt(2)

x2 =2+5i*sqrt(2)

Step-by-step explanation:

-x^2 +4x-54=0 (quadratic equation)

a=-1, b=4, c=-54

x1=(-b+sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a

x1=(-4+sqrt(4^2 - 4*(-1)(-54))/2*(-1)

x1=(-4+sqrt(16-216))/(-2)

x1 =(-4+sqrt(-200))/(-2)

x1 =(-4+sqrt(200i^2))/(-2) i^2=-1

x1 =(-4+sqrt(100*2*i^2))/(-2)

x1 =(-4+10i*sqrt(2))/(-2)

x1 =2-5i*sqrt(2)

x2 =(-b-sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a

x2 =(-4-10i*sqrt(2))/(-2)

x2 =2+5i*sqrt(2)
