Answer:

y = 20/3

Step-by-step explanation:

4y + 2y + 10 = 50

Combine like terms on the left side.

6y + 10 = 50

Subtract 10 from both sides.

6y = 40

Divide both sides by 6.

y = 40/6

Reduce the fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by 2.

y = 20/3

Answer: y = 20/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Combine like terms: 6y + 10 = 50

Subtract 10 on both sides: 6y = 40

Divide by 6 on both sides: y = 40/6

Take out the Greatest Common Factor (in this case, it's 2): y = 20/3

Hope this helps!

What is the greatest common factor of the terms of the polynomial below? 8x^4 - 12x^3 + 20x^2
Daniel [21]

Answer: I think the greatest common factor is 4x^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the numerical common factors. Which are 8, -12, and 20. Find the variable common factors for x^4, x^3, and x^2. Multiply them together. Then break down the factors on both sides and pick the biggest one. Finally multiply them together. (I’m sorry, I’m very bad at explaining things.)

Please help because I'm getting confused, and please show step by step. :(
Westkost [7]
So lets just simplify them first
1 batch = 2 3/4 so...
11/4 cups

and you need to make 3  1/2 batch so..
7/2 batch

then you just multiply it...
11/4 x 7/2
=77/8
=9 5/8

so you will need 9 5/8 cups

In roulette, you may bet whether the number that comes up is odd (or even). (remember that 0 does not count as either odd or eve
Flura [38]
Your expected win from this bet would be about -0.05, meaning that you can expect to lose 5 cents on each $1 bet.

To find this we multiply the probability for each bet times $1. Remember in Roulette, there are 18 red, 18 black and 2 zero spaces.

(18/38) x 1 + (20/38) x -1 = -0.05

To explain:The reason for the statement to be incorrect.A person participates in a weekly office pool in which he has one chance
stepan [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is - given approach is incorrect.

Step-by-step explanation:

P = probability of winning = 1/10

q = probability of not winning = 1- (1/10) = 9/10

x = no. of winning

then, p (x ≥ 1) = 1 - p (x < 1)

= 1 - p (x=0)

= 1 - ⁵C₀ (1/10)^⁰ (9/10)^(5-0)

= 1 - (1) (1) (9/10)^5

=  1 - (9/10)^5
