Subtract 3/5 from 1 2/3.

Re-write the problem as "subtract 3/5 from 5/3."

 5     3
--- - -----
 3      5

Note that the LCD here is (3)(5) = 15.
Multiply 5/3 by (15/15) and also multiply 3/5 by (15/15).  Your result should be

     25          9
   -------  -  -----
      15        15

Subtracting, we get   16/15.  This is the answer.  The green peppers weighed 16/15 lb, or 1 1/15 lb, more than did the other peppers.

Can anyone help with this?
slava [35]

Exterior angle c = the sun of the two opposite interior angles a and b.

10x -23 = 5x -17 + 7x -26

Combine the right side:

10x -23 = 12x -43

Add 43 to both sides:

10x +20 = 12x

Subtract 10x from both sides:

20 = 2x

Divide both sides by 2

X = 10

Now you have x replace it in the equation for A:

A = 5x -27 = 5(10) -27 = 50-27 = 23

Angle A = 23 degrees.

The question is show a dilation of a rectangle with a dilation of 8/3
miv72 [106K]

It's always easier to understand a concept by looking at specific examples with pictures, so I suggest looking at the dilation examples below first...before you try to internalize the steps listed below and that explain the general formula for dilating a point with coordinates of (2,4) by a scale factor of <span><span>12</span><span>12</span></span>.

<span><span>1) multiply both coordinates by scale factor<span>(<span><span>2⋅<span>12</span>,4⋅<span>12</span></span><span>2⋅<span>12</span>,4⋅<span>12</span></span></span>)</span></span><span>2)
