So assuming that the only had 3+6=9 tiles
what we have to do it find teh area total
area=legnth times width

3 tiles are 3 and 1/2 times 3
3  times 3 and 1/2=10 and 1/2
times 3 tiles
10 and 1/2 times 3=31 and 1/2 squar inches

6 tiles are 4 by 3 and 1/4
4 times 3 and 1/4=13
6 tiles times 13 inchessquare=78

so we add
31 and 1/2+78=109 and 1/2 square inches

109 ¹/₂ in²

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

<u>Given:</u>

  • Rachel made a mosaic from different color rectangle tiles.
  • Three tiles measured 3 ¹/₂ inches x 3 inches.
  • Six tiles measured 4 inches x 3 ¹/₄ inches.

<u>Question:</u>

What is the area of the whole mosaic in square inches?

<u>The Process:</u>

Let's use the formula of a rectangular area.

\boxed{\boxed{ \ Area = length \times width \ }}

<u>Part-1:</u> three tiles measured 3 ¹/₂ inches x 3 inches.

The area of the three tiles is as follows:

\boxed{ \ Area = 3 \times length \times width \ }

\boxed{ \ Area = 3 \times 3 \times 3\frac{1}{2} \ }

\boxed{ \ Area = 3 \times 3 \times \frac{7}{2} \ }

\boxed{ \ Area = 9 \times \frac{7}{2} \ }

\boxed{\boxed{ \ Area = \frac{63}{2} \ in^2\ }}

<u>Part-2:</u> six tiles measures 4 inches x 3 ¹/₄ inches.

The area of the six tiles is as follows:

\boxed{ \ Area = 6 \times length \times width \ }

\boxed{ \ Area = 6 \times 4 \times 3\frac{1}{4} \ }

\boxed{ \ Area = 6 \times 4 \times \frac{13}{4} \ }

\boxed{ \ Area = 24 \times \frac{13}{4} \ }

Both 24 and 4 are divided by 4.

\boxed{ \ Area = 6 \times 13 \ }

\boxed{\boxed{ \ Area = 78 \ in^2 \ }}

Finally, let's add up the two areas above to get the area of the whole mosaic.

\boxed{ \ = \frac{63}{2} + 78 \ }

\boxed{ \ = 31\frac{1}{2} + 78 \ }

\boxed{ \ = 109\frac{1}{2} \ }

Thus, the area of the whole mosaic is \boxed{\boxed{ \ = 109\frac{1}{2} \ in^2 \ }}

____ [38]

Answer:

\frac{9}{14} \ chance

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Approach

Probability is a way of predicting a future outcome based on given data. In essence, the formula for finding the probability is, \frac{desired\ outcomes}{total\ outcomes}.

It is given that

- (63) paid with cash

- (22) paid with a debit card

- (13) paid with a credit card

First, add all of these numbers up to find the total number of customers. Then set up the probability, finally, simplify the fraction by diving both the numerator and denominator by a common factor.

2. Find the total number of customers

Add up all of the given customers, regardless of their payment type.;

(cash)+(credit)+(debit)\\\\= 63 + 22 + 13\\\\= 98

(98) total customers.

3. Find the probability

Now set up the probability, remember, the formula for finding the probability is,

\frac{desired\ outcomes}{total\ outcomes}

The desired outcome is the number of customers who pay with cash = (63)

The total outcome is the number of customers who when to the business; (98)

Substitute in the numbers and simplify,

\frac{desired\ outcomes}{total\ outcomes}

\frac{63}{98}

Both of these numbers are divisible by (7), hence divide the fraction by (7)

\frac{9}{14}

Here is an easy one
kvv77 [185]
Remember that the angles of a triangle is 180 so:

(7x+8) + (5x+2) + (7x-1) = 180
7x+8+5x+2+7x-1=180
7x+5x+7x=180-8-2+1
19x=171
X= 171/19
X=9

Therefore x=9

Find the missing length indicated.<br> A) 48 <br> B) 36 <br> C) 100 <br> D) 64
alexandr402 [8]

Answer:

Option D) 64

Step-by-step explanation:

see the attached figure with letters to better understand the problem

<em>In the right triangle BCD find BC</em>

Applying the Pythagoras Theorem

BC^{2}=48^{2}+36^{2}\\BC^{2}=3,600\\BC=60\ units

<em>In the right triangle ABC</em>

cos(C)=BC/AC

substitute the values

cos(C)=60/(x+36) -------> equation A

<em>In the right triangle BDC</em>

cos(C)=CD/BC

substitute the values

cos(C)=36/60 -------> equation B

equate equation A and equation B

60/(x+36)=36/60\\ \\(x+36)*36=60*60\\ \\36x+1,296=3,600\\ \\36x=3,600-1,296\\ \\36x=2,304\\ \\x=64\ units
