Beauty Shop Woes. When Janice went to work as a hair stylist in Rick's beauty shop, she entered into an agreement with Rickwhere

by if she left she would not work for another beauty shop within50 miles for 2 years. Rick trained Janice in a number of new techniques. After nine months, Janice was offered a great job down the street at a new beauty shop, quit Rick, and had a number of customers follow her down the street to her new job. Rick claimed that she had signed a contract and had no right to go to work at the new shop. Janice disagreed and told Rick that no judge in the countrywould enforce such an agreement. Janice told Rick that she was moreworried about a customer, Treena, who was threatening to sue her because her hair turned green after Janice worked on it. Janice agreed that Treena's hair was damaged. Janice pointed out, however, that she told Treena that odd results could result from a dye attempt, and she required that Treena sign a contract releasing Janice from all liabilities before she did anything with Treena's hair. Treena, however, sued anyway. Which of the following is true regarding Janice's claim that no judge in the country would enforce such an agreement? A. €‹when you face listeners who are neutral toward your claim, ask why.
Artist 52 [7]

It is TRUE that when you face listeners who are neutral toward your claim, you should ask why.

Listening demands a response that is active, not a passive one. Effective listening requires thoughts since it doesn’t just happen, and thinking can be a hard task. Nevertheless, becoming an active listener has no other way around except to be active.

Why do you think India is a democracy
olchik [2.2K]

Answer with Explanation:

In order for a country to be considered "democratic," it needs to possess certain elements such as allowing the citizens to have an active involvement in the country by having civic rights and having fair elections where citizens can elect their government officials.

India, as a country, possess these elements. Ever since India declared itself as a free nation on August 15, 1947, the citizens were given the freedom to elect their government officials and take an active role in the country's civil and political affairs.

So, this clearly makes India a democratic country.

Why is it sometimes difficult to make decisions involving economic development and the environment?
asambeis [7]
More often than not it is very hard to make decisions about economic development and the environment and manage to balance them so that both of them are in the desired position. The problem is that almost always the economic development depends on destroying parts of the environment, so often the choice is to either to stagnate on an economical basis and protect the environment, or push for economic development and destroy parts of the environment. This is very often a conflict situation, and in the last decades with the bigger awareness about the nature it is becoming even harder a decision to be made.
