The diagram shows that
AB = 5
AC = AB+BC = 5+2 = 7
DE = 7
DF = DE+EF = 7+x

So,
AB/AC = DE/DF
5/7 = 7/(7+x)
5(7+x) = 7*7
5(7+x) = 49
35+5x = 49
5x = 49-35
5x = 14
x = 14/5

So EF = 14/5 in fraction form
In decimal form, EF = 2.8 (since 14/5 = 2.8)

earnstyle [38]
For this case we have the following expression:
 (x-1) / (3) = k
 Substituting the value of k = 3 we have:
 (x-1) / (3) = 3
 From here, we must clear the value of x.
 We have then:
 x-1 = 3 * 3
 x-1 = 9
 x = 9 + 1
 x = 10

The value of x is given by:

x = 10

Write the equation in slope-intercept form of the line passing through (2,7) and (-5,2).
sasho [114]

Hello!

Explanation:

Slope-intercept form: → y=mx+b

m: represents the slope and is constant.

b: represents the y-intercept.

Rise/run.

m=\frac{rise}{run}

x^1,y^1=(2,7)

x^2,y^2=(-5,2)

\frac{2-7=-5}{(-5)-2=-7}= \frac{-5}{-7}

\frac{-5}{-7}=0.714

<u><em>Y-intercept is -7</em></u>

<u><em>But the slope is -5.</em></u>

<u><em>Answer: → 0.714</em></u>

Hope this helps!

Jessica and Callista go the local burger joint. They both want to buy the meal deal. Jessica has 34 of the money needed to buy t
olga_2 [115]

The original price of the meal deal if they would have exactly enough money to buy two of the meal deal is $4

<h3>How to write and solve equation?</h3>

let

x = cost of the meal

Both = 2x - 3

  • Jessica = 3/4x
  • Callista = 1/2x

3/4x + 1/2x = 2x - 3

(3+2)x / 4 = 2x - 3

5/4x = 2x - 3

5/4x - 2x = - 3

(5-8)x/ 4 = -3

-3/4x = -3

x = -3 ÷ -3/4

= -3 × -4/3

= 12/3

x = $4
