Hitler used the Jews as a scapegoat for all the bad things that happened after World War I. It helped him rise to power with the thought that Germans were the superiors thus they could invade any country they wanted. *Patriotism* was one of the major factors leading to World War II.

The most likely reason for this was that the government wanted to avoid damaging factories excessively.
