The data in the table represents the average number of daylight hours each month in Springfield in 2015, rounded to the nearest

quarter-hour.
Part A: Write an equation that best models the data.
Part B: What is the expected number of daylight hours in March 2020? Explain.

Here's the chart.

January: 9.5
February: 10.5
March: 12
April: 13.25
May: 14.5
June: 15
July: 14.75
August: 13.75
September: 12.5
October: 11.0
November: 9.75
December: 9.25

The only thing that I did was to put the numbers from lowest to highest, graphed it, and made a equation for it. I just need help with part B. Please help :)

To do part B, use the equation that you wrote for part A.  We need to figure out what month number March of 2020 will be; we started in January 2015 at month 1; month 2 was Feb. 2015; month 3 was Mar. 2015; etc. to month 12 at Dec. 2015.  Then month 13 will be Jan. 2016; month 13+12=25 will be Jan. 2017; month 25+12=37 will be Jan. 2018; month 37+12=49 will be Jan. 2019; month 49+12=61 will be Jan. 2020; month 62 will be Feb. 2020; and month 63 will be March 2020.

63 is the number you will substitute for x in the equation you've already written for part A.

Raul has 56 bouncy balls. He puts three times as many balls into red bags as he puts into green gift bags. If he puts the same n
Sati [7]
If we divide 56 by 4 we get 14.  Why by4?  So that one number is 3 times the other So he had 14 balls that went into the green bags and 42 (56-14) that went into the red bags.  We could just answer the question and say 14 but I think they want to know how many in each green bag.
14 and 42 don't work because they are not the same number of balls.  What number is a common factor?  7 is,
We could have 2 green bags and split the 14 balls into 2 groups of 7 and with the remaining 42 - put them into 6 red bags of 7 each.
And so the answer to your question is:
7 ball in each bag  = 2 bags are green, and 6 bags are red
                                        14 balls              +    42 balls            = 56 bouncy balls
