I'm not really sure I understand the question, but I'm guessing you want the total distance that they threw the javelin.

So, 42 and 5/8 + 39 and 3/5
= 42+39 and 5/8 + 3/5
= 71 and 25/40 + 24/40
= 71 and 49/40
= 71 + 1 and 9/40
= 72 and 9/40

The team threw the javelin 72 and 9/40 ft away.

What is the value of 6x^3 +8x when x = 5
sertanlavr [38]
Just sub x in with 5.
So 6(5)^3+8(5) = 6 (125) + 40 = 750 + 40 = 790.
So 790

URGENT. <br>Q) 18, 19, 20
notsponge [240]
18. s = 5r^2 + 7......making r the subject
      s - 7 = 5r^2
      (s - 7) / 5 = r^2...by taking the sqrt of both sides, it eliminates the ^2
     ( sqrt (s-7)/5) = r

19. h = ut - 1/2gt^2....u = 100, t = 1 4/5(or 9/5)...g = 6.4
      h = (100)(9/5) - 1/2(6.4)(9/5^2)
      h = 180 - 1/2(6.4)(3.24)
      h = 180 - 3.2(3.24)
      h = 180 - 10.368
      h = 169.632 or 169 79/125

Use the remainder theorem and the factor theorem to determine whether (b + 4) is a factor of (b3 + 3b2 − b + 12).
Elenna [48]
Use synthetic division.  Look at my attachment below for a detailed explanation.  If the remainder is 0 (which it is), then it's a factor.
