Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

cos (pi/3 + B)  =   1/2( cosB - sqrt(3) sinB)

the first item in the list.

Discussion:

The standard double-angle formula for cos is:

cos (A + B) = cosAcosB - sinAsinB

Applying this formula to cos (pi/3 + B ) gives

cos(pi/3 + B) = cos(pi/3)cosB - sin(pi/3)sinB

But cos(pi/3) = cos (180/3) = cos(60) = 1/2 and

      sin(pi/3) =  sqrt(3)/2

Substituting these values gives

cos (pi/3 + B) =  1/2 cosB - sqrt(3)/2 sinB =

                          1/2( cosB - sqrt(3) sinB)

which is the first answer.

MrB

Solve the one step equations- 3.7+w=9.24
mariarad [96]
Simplifying -3.7 + w = 9.24 Solving -3.7 + w = 9.24 Solving for variable 'w'. Move all terms containing w to the left, all other terms to the right. Add '3.7' to each side of the equation. -3.7 + 3.7 + w = 9.24 + 3.7 Combine like terms: -3.7 + 3.7 = 0.0 0.0 + w = 9.24 + 3.7 w = 9.24 + 3.7 Combine like terms: 9.24 + 3.7 = 12.94 w = 12.94 Simplifying w = 12.94

In which quadrant is the number –14 – 5i located on the complex plane?
AlekseyPX
On the complex plane, the real component of a complex number is graphed along the horizontal axis while the imaginary component is graphed along the vertical axis.

Positive numbers go to the right on the real axis and up on the imaginary axis, and vice versa for negative numbers.

Therefore, the number -14-5i is in the 3rd quadrant because it graphed to the left of the origin and down.

Answer:

15.3 gallons

Step-by-step explanation:

ratio and proportion

420 miles    =    357 miles

18 gallons          x gallons

420 (x) = 357 (18)

x = 6426 / 420

x = 15.3 gallons
