Hi there!

• Radius = \dfrac{10}{2} ft = 5 ft.

Area of the fountain = πr² = 3.14 x (5)² = 78.5 ft²

•Radius for fountain n' walk = \dfrac{10 + 3}{2} = \dfrac{13}{2} = 6.5 ft

Area of fountain n' walk = πr² = 3.14 x (6.5)² = 132. 6 ft²

| Area of th' Circular walk |

132.6 - 78.5 ft² = 54. 1 ft²
ar( Larger circle ) - ar( Smaller circle )

Hence,
The area of the walk around the fountain is 54. 1 ft²

~ Hope it helps!

A rope is swinging in such a way that the length of the arc is decreasing geometrically. If the first arc is 18 feet long and th
NemiM [27]

Answer: The length of the second arc is 12 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we know that

A rope is swinging in such a way that the length of the arc is decreasing geometrically,

Length of first arc = 18 feet

Length of third arc = 8 feet

Let the length of second arc be x

As we know that

\frac{a_2}{a_1}=\frac{a_3}{a_2}\\\\\frac{x}{18}=\frac{8}{x}\\\\x^2=18\times 8\\\\x^2=144\\\\x=\sqrt{144}\\\\x=12

Hence, the length of the second arc is 12 feet.

Yellowstone National Park is a popular field trip destination. This year the senior class at High School A and the senior class
Rina8888 [55]

Each van carries 13 students and each bus carries 25 students.

<h3><u>Distribution</u></h3>

Given that the senior class at High School A and the senior class at High School B both planned trips to Yellowstone, and the senior class at High School A rented and filled 5 vans and 2 buses with 115 students, while High School B rented and filled 1 van and 6 buses with 163 students, and each van carried the same number of students and each bus carried the same number of students, to determine the number of students in each van and in each bus, the following calculation must be made:

  • 5X + 2Y = 115
  • 1X + 6Y = 163
  • 5X + 2Y = 115
  • 5X + 30Y = 815
  • 815 - 115 = 28Y
  • 700 = 28Y
  • Y = 700 / 28
  • y = 25
  • 1X + 6x25 = 163
  • 1X = 163 - 150
  • X = 13

Therefore, each van carries 13 students and each bus carries 25 students.

(14x-13) (4x+13) (6x+2)
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Answer:

x = 7.416666667

Set everything equal to 180 (the total # of degrees in a triangle)

180 = 14x-13 + 4x+13 + 6x+2

Combine the variables

180 = 24x - 13 + 13 + 2

Do the math

180 = 24x +2

178 = 24x

x = 7.416666667
