The answer for that is negative 8 yards because if you lose four yards that's negative 4 so if u add them you get negative 8 or you can multiply negative 4 by 2 and u get the same answer

15x+12(10-x)=141<br>make sure to use steps to solve!
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer: x=7

Step-by-step explanation: First you distribute the 12 to (10-x). That then gives you 15x+120-12x=141. Now you combine like terms. So you do 15x-12x=3x. Your new equation now is 3x+120=141. Subtract 120 from 141 and mark it out. That leaves you with 3x=21. Divide both sides by 3. Your final answer is x=7.

Mr. Shamir employs two part-time typists, Inna and Jim, for his typing needs. Inna charges $15 an hour and can type 6 pages an h
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

The minimum cost would be 480$ when Inna works for 8 hours and Jim works for 20 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Charges for 1 hour for Inna = $15

Number of pages typed by Inna in 1 hour = 6

Charges for 1 hour for Jim = $18

Number of pages typed by Jim in 1 hour = 8

Let x be the number of hours Inna work and let y be the number of hours Jim work.

Total cost = 15x + 18y

We have to minimize this cost.

Then, we can write the following inequalities:

6x + 8y \geq 208\\x \geq 8\\y \geq 8\\

The corner points as evaluated from graph are: (8,20) and (24,8)

C(8,20) = 480$

C(24,8) = 504$

Hence, the minimum cost would be 480$ when Inna works for 8 hours and Jim works for 20 hours.

What is the solution? pls help
loris [4]

Answer:

Solve by substitution

[y=5/2x-4]

[y= -x+3]

Substitute y = -x +3

[-x+3=5/2x-4]

Isolate x for -x+3=5/2x-4: x=2

For y = -x+3

Substitute x = 2

y= -2+3

Simplify

y=1

The solutions to the system of equations are:

y=1 x=2

The answer is B, you will need at least 6 spring roll wrapper packages.

 The way you get the answer is by turning the word problem into an expression. You can make this into the fraction (17*6+15*3)/(25). 17 is the number of adults and you multiply this by how many spring rolls Jill wants to give each adult, which is 6, you can do the same for the children. Next the denominator is 25 which represents the amount of spring roll wrappers per each package. When you simplify the answer comes around to 5.88, but since you cant buy 88% of a spring role wrap package you have to buy another whole one, which makes the answer six.
