6/5  /  x = 6

Multiply the numerator by the reciprocal of the denominator:

6/5 * 1/x = 6

Simplify:

6/5x = 6

Solve for x:

6/5 = 6x

Divide each side by 6:

x = 1/5

The answer is A. 1/5

Cat behavior: A report stated that the average number of times a cat returns to it's good bowl during the day is 37. Assuming th
Virty [35]

Answer:

P (34<X<39) = 0.5899

Step-by-step explanation:

When the distribution is normal, we use the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

In this question, we have that:

\mu = 37, \sigma = 3

What is the probability that a cat would return to it's dish between 34 and 39 times a day.

This is the pvalue of Z when X = 39 subtracted by the pvalue of Z when X = 34. So

X = 39

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{39 - 37}{3}

Z = 0.67

Z = 0.67 has a pvalue of 0.7486

X = 34

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{34 - 37}{3}

Z = -1

Z = -1 has a pvalue of 0.1587

0.7486 - 0.1587 = 0.5899

So

P (34<X<39) = 0.5899

A function f(x) is transferred from the parent function p(x) = |x| by a reflection over the x-axis, vertical stretched by a fact
Dmitry [639]
Refrection over the x-axis changes |x| to -|x|.
Vertical stretch by a factor of 2.5 changes the function to -2.5|x|
Shifting the function down by 3 units changes the function to -2.5|x| - 3

Therefore, f(x) = -2.5|x| - 3

I will lay out the answers according to the days you have on your picture.

Monday:

<em>1. -12 x -5 </em>

A negative multiplied by a negative will equal a positive answer. So:

<em>12x5= 60</em>.

To do this without a calculator, first do

<em>5x10= 50, </em>then

<em>5x2=10. </em>

<em>50+10= 60.</em>

<em>2. True or False: 27= 3 x 3^3</em>

First find out what 3 cubed is. That means 3x3x3. Since 3x3=9, and 9x3= 27, the 3 cubed is 27.

But you still need to multiply by 3 yet! 27x3=81.

So this question is false.

<em>3. True or False: (-) / (+) = (-)</em>

A negative divided by a positive is indeed negative. So this is true.

Tuesday:

<em>1. 18+ (-16)</em>

Like before, a negative and positive equal a negatvie. So the question is really asking: 18-16 = 2.

<em>2. 18/ -3</em>

Again, positive divided by a negative (or the other way around) will equal a negative. So 18/3=6, and add the negative sign, so the answer is -6.

<em>3. (-5)(6)(-7)</em>

When a negative is multiplied by a positive, the answer is negative. But, if the negative is multiplied by another negative, the answer is positive. So the answer here is positive.

(5)(6)(7)

=30 x 7

=210

Monday #2

<em>1. (-)(-)(-)</em>

When two negatives are multiplied, the answer is a positive. But when multiplied by another negative, the answer becomes negative once again.

<em>2. -(4^2)= -16  </em>

This answer is true. 4 squared is 16, and becomes negative because of the negative sign in front of the 4 squared.

<em>3. -50+20</em>

This is almost like asking 50-20 = 30. But because we are going towards 0 from the negative range, the answer will be negative.

Tuesday #2

<em>1. If a=-8, then 4a...</em>

4(-8)

=-32

<em>2. Question unclear...</em>

<em>3. (-)+(-)</em>

<em>= positive</em>

Wednesday

<em>1. -5+3-3</em>

+3-3=0

So the answer is just -5

<em>2. absolute value of -8/4</em>

Just take off the negative sign. So just 8/4.

<em>3. -12+(-5)</em>

= -12-5

=-17
