X^2-4x-32=0

(x+a)(x+b)

x^2-(a+b)x+ab

a+b=4
ab=-32

a=-b+4
(-b+4)b=-32

-b^2+4b=-32
b^2-4b-32=0
b=8,-4

If b=8, a=-4
If b=-4, a= 8

Plug in a and b to (x+a)(x+b)
x= -4, 8

Write the slope intercept
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

b = 4,

m = 4/3,

y = 4x/3 + 4

Step-by-step explanation:

We can see the line intercepts the x-axis in (-3,0) and the y-axis in (0,4). So, using the fact that the line equation in the slope-intercept form is:

y = mx+b

We can substitute the points we know:

→ (0,4):

y = mx+b\\\\4 = m\cdot0+b\\\\4 = 0+b\\\\\boxed{b=4}

→ (-3,0):

y = mx+b\\\\0 = -3m + 4\\\\3m = 4\\\\\boxed{m = \dfrac{4}{3}}

So, the line equation in form requested is:

\boxed{y=\dfrac{4}{3}x+4}
