Hey! there are many ways to solve this question, but here are two!

ONE: since Dora bought 48 cupcakes at $0.55 each (which is SO CHEAP i want these cupcakes :), the total amount she spent is 48*0.55, which is $26.40. the number of vanilla cupcakes are 3/8 of the number of total cupcakes, so the cost would be 3/8 of the total cost, or 3/8*26.40

TWO: since the vanilla cupcakes make up 3/8 of all the cupcakes, that means that there are 18 vanilla cupcakes (48*3/8). each cupcake costs $0.55, so to find the cost of 18 cupcakes, multiply 18 by 0.55

ANSWER: $9.90

hope this helped!

Suppose that receiving stations X, Y, and Z are located on a coordinate plane at the points (6,2), (negative 2,negative 4
marin [14]

Answer:

  (2,-1)

Step-by-step explanation:

A graph is useful here. Points X and Y have coordinate differences of ...

  X -Y = (6, 2) -(-2, -4) = (6+2, 2+4) = (8, 6)

Then the distance between X and Y is ...

  d = √(8² +6²) = √100 = 10

The point 5 units from X and from Y is the midpoint of XY:

  E = (X +Y)/2 = ((6, 2) +(-2, -4))/2 = (4, -2)/2 = (2, -1)

The epicenter is (2, -1).

_____

The graph shows circles of radius 5 around X and Y, and a circle of radius 13 around Z. The circles intersect at the point (2, -1), the epicenter.

The ratio of money in Terry's bank account to Faye's bank account was 3:7. Terry then put £220 in his account and Faye withdrew
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

£910

Step-by-step explanation:

let 3x and 7x be the initial amounts in their accounts, then after alterations

Terry has 3x + 220

Faye has 7x - 300

After these changes the amounts are equal, hence

7x - 300 = 3x + 220 ( subtract 3x from both sides )

4x - 300 = 220 ( add 300 to both sides )

4x = 520 ( divide both sides by 4 )

x = 130

Faye initially had 7 × £130 = £910 in her account

Betty saves $161 a month. She saves $141 less each month than Jack. How much will jack save in 2 years?
tresset_1 [31]

Given that Betty saves $161 per month which is $141 less than Jack per month. find the amount that Jack will save in 2 years.

First, find how much Jack saves. We can do this buy adding 141 to 161 since Betty saves 141 less meaning we can reverse it by adding it.

141 + 161 = 302

Now, that we know how much Jack saves per month.

Then, we have to find out how many months are in 2 years.

We already know that there is 12 months in a year, so for 2 years, we can simply multiply by 2.

12 x 2 = 24

Therefore, there are 24 months in two years.

Lastly, multiply 24 months by the amount that Jack saves to get the amount in total.

24 x 302 = 7,248

Thus, Jack will save approximately $7,248 in 2 years.

In a race, Brian Collins has to cross 10 hurdles. The probability that he clears a hurdle is 2/3. Find P(clears all hurdles).
Gnom [1K]

Answer:

1024/59049

Step-by-step explanation:

P( clear hurdle) = 2/3

There are 10 hurdles

P ( clear all hurdles) = P( clear hurdle) * P( clear hurdle)...... 10 times

                                 = 2/3 * 2/3 *....... 10 times

                                  = (2/3) ^ 10

                                  =1024/59049
