Your answer is going to be letter B. the minimum point is in a negative spot so that cancels out A and D. the inside of the parabola is pointing up so that makes the answer B.

<h2>Answer:</h2>

Option: B is the correct answer.

The equation of blue graph is:

         B.    y=(x+4)^2-3

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

We could clearly observe from the graph that the vertex of the blue graph is:

                       (-4,-3)

Also from the figure we could see that the parabola is a upward open parabola.Hence, the general equation of an upward open parabola is given by:

y=a(x-h)^2+k

where (h,k) denote the vertex of the parabola.

Hence, we have: (h,k)=(-4,-3)

i.e. h= -4 and k= -3

Hence, the equation of blue graph is:

y=(x-(-4))^2-3\\\\y=(x+4)^2-3

Round 13.2 feet to a whole number
disa [49]

Rounding to a whole number means rounding a decimal digit number to the nearest whole number and eliminating the decimal digit.

To do so we should have a look at the decimal digit

Here we have 13.2

here the 2 is the digit in the decimal

We already know that when the number to be rounded is less than 5 then it is rounded to the whole number preceding it and if it is greater than 5 it is rounded to the whole number next to it.

Here we can see that 2 is less than 5 , and it is closer to 13 than to 14. So we can round this number to 13 feet

( Extra point for better understanding: If we have say 13.8 to be rounded to nearest whole number, we can see that 8 is greater than 5 and so it is closer to 14 than to 13 then it will be rounded to 14)

Matt is canoeing on Lake opeongo fighting a headwind. it takes him 2 hours to get to the lake 4km away. on the way back it takes
Mariana [72]

So Matt is canoeing on a Lake.

It took him 2 hours to get to the lake 4 kilometers away.

On the way back it takes him 90 minutes.

Now, lets say that he is canoeing at 'u' miles per hour and lets assume that the speed of the wind is 'v' miles per hour.

While he sails in opposite to the wind net speed is given by u-v.

Using the relation between distance, time, and speed we get:

u-v=\frac{4}{2} =2 kilometers per hour so we get,

u-v=2 ..............(equation 1)

Now when he sails along the wind, the net speed is given by u+v

Now, again use the same relation as stated above we get:

u+v=\frac{4}{1.5} =2.6 (here we have converted 90 minutes into hours \frac{90}{60} =1.5)

u+v=2.6 ..............(equation 2)

Solving equation 1 and 2 we get:

u=2.3 , putting the value of 'u' in equation 1 we get v=2.6-2.3=0.3.

So the speed at which Matt is canoeing is 'u' that is 2.3 kilometers per hour and the wind is flowing at 0.3 kilometers per hour.

So Matt can canoe at 2.3 kilometers per hour without wind. And wind is slowing him down by 0.3 kilometer per hour.

Explain how to determine which numbers must be excluded from the domain of a rational expression. Please provide an example with
Katarina [22]

Answer:

  • When we are having a rational expression i.e. a expression of the type:

\dfrac{f(x)}{g(x)}

Where f(x) and g(x) are polynomial functions.

Now the domain of this rational expression is whole of the real numbers except the points where the function g(x) will be zero.

Hence we have to exclude the points where the given denominator quantity is zero.

  • Let us consider an example as:

  Let R(x) denote the rational function as:

R(x)=\dfrac{x^2}{(x-2)(x-3)}

Now the domain of this rational function will be whole of the real line minus the points where the denominator is zero.

We know that (x-2)(x-3) is zero when x=2 or x=3.

Hence, the domain of R(x) is: R- {2,3}.
