Determine the quotient and remainder F(x)=6x^4+12x^3+24x^2+<br> 23x+18 is divided by g(x)=2x^2+2x+4
Mekhanik [1.2K]
The only way to do this one is by long division which I can't figure out how to show here. There are some great examples online if you google long division with polynomials.

The answer is 3x^2+3x+3 with a remainder of 5x+6 who's is usually shown as (5x+6)/2x^2 +2x+4 which was the divisor g(x).

Which of the following are solutions to the equation below?
larisa86 [58]

Answer:

B and C

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we need to get the left side equal to zero. Take away 25 from each side to get 4x^2+12x-16 = 0.

We can use the quadratic equation of \frac{-b+ -\sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{2a} to find the solutions.

Plug them in to get \frac{-12+-\sqrt{144 -(-256)} }{8}.

Simplify.

\frac{-12+-\sqrt{400} }{8}

\frac{-12+-20}{8}

\frac{8}{8} or \frac{-32}{8}

1 and -4

x = 1 and -4
