Elie Wiesel is a survivor of the concentration camps in Germany. In his prologue in Night, he states he doesn’t consider himself a hero. He doesn’t think he’s a hero because he saved many lives. He did what he had to do, not for fame. A hero is someone who saves lives, even if it means endangering your own life.

Why should there be less gun control? Well, statistically speaking, states with less gun control have a lower gun voilence rate. Two of the state with the highest amount of gun voilence are California and New York, which have some of the strictest gun policies in the United States. States like Arizona and Texas however, two of the least strict gun control states have some of the lowest numbers in the US. The reason for this being, making something illegal for citizens to own serves almost no purpose because criminals will end up getting their guns illegally. All it does is take away a citizen's defense against criminals who ignore the gun control laws. Another example of this is Mexico. Mexico is almost tied with New York and California in gun related deaths per 100,000 people and they too, have outlawed guns. This is why we must respect the second amendment and allow citizens the ability to protect themselves against non-law obeying criminals.
