What sometimes happens to people when the illusion is shattered and reality is revealed? can you give an example from your own or a friend's experience?

Hope can do a lot of benefits to the people but getting those hopes up and living vicariously in those illusions make them delusional. At this stage if the reality hits them it's not a present experience. Illusions make you believe false and keeps your hopes up without any chance. Ex: A person believing that he would get employed soon based on his academics and the reality being the severe condition of recession going on.
