Consequently, this caused a major public distrust of Japanese Americans in the country; and a few months later, Franklin D. Roosevelt enacted The Executive Order 9066. This order forced Japanese Americans to place in internment camps during the war, and it was based on the assumption that Japanese Americans posed a threat to national security.
