80% all you have to do is divide 4 by 5 (4/5)
you could also think of it like a five question quiz. every question you get wrong it subtracts 20 percent since 20 times 5 is 100 (3/5=.60 or 60%)

A container manufacturer plans to make rectangular boxes whose bottom and top measure 2x by 3x. The container must contain 12in.
lisabon 2012 [21]

The height of the container be so as to minimize cost will be 1.20. inches.

How to calculate the height?

The volume of the box will be:

= 2x × 3x × h

= 6x²h

Volume = 6x²h

12 = 6x²h

h = 2x²

The cost function will be:

C = 2.60(2)(6x²) + 4.30(12x)h

C = 31.2x² + 51.6xh

Taking the derivative

62.4x + 51.6h

h = 1.20

Therefore, the height of the container be so as to minimize cost will be 1.20 inches.

Hey! I have some geometry questions today!
Volgvan

Answer:

 • 29
 • 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Question 1

It is assumed the chords have equal length: PQ = SR

If the vertexes connected with the center, the both chords will form a right triangle, with the hypotenuse being the radius.

Then the radius is found using Pythagorean theorem:

 • r = \sqrt{20^2 + 21^2} = \sqrt{841} = 29

Question 2

Use the intersecting secants theorem: and solve for x:

 • FS*FT = FP*FQ
 • 4(4 + x) = 5(5 + 3)
 • 16 + 4x = 40
 • 4x = 24
 • x = 6
