For this case, what you should keep in mind is that you have three cases to calculate the scale factor.

 Dimensions of a figure:
 L = k * l
 Where,
L: side of a figure applying scale factor.
l: original side of a figure.

 Area of a figure:
 A: k ^ 2 * a
 Where,
A: Area of a figure applying scale factor.
a: Original area of a figure.

 Volume of a figure:
 V = k ^ 3 * v
 Where,
V: Volume of a figure by applying scale factor.
v: Original volume of a figure.

 For reductions of a figure:
 k <1
 To enlarge a figure:
 k> 1

Answer: The scale factor is the ratio of the scale figure dimensions to the original dimensions. The scale factor for an enlargement is a number greater than 1. The scale factor for a reduction is a decimal or fraction between 0 and 1.

Which equation represents exponential decay?
Degger [83]
Answer:
The Answer is: B.
Step-by-step explanation:
The form of the equation is:
f(x) = ab^x
When b is greater than 0 and less than 1, the function is an Exponential Decay Function.
B. is f(x) = (.08)^x
In this case, a = 1

What’s The definition of linear and nonlinear in Math
Helga [31]

Answer:

Functions can be classified in two different categories: linear or nonlinear. A simple way to know differentiate between the two is to look at the output values when plugging in a number for an unknown variable. If the output values have a difference that is constant, then the function will be classified as a linear equation; however, if the outputs do not have a constant difference then it will be classified as a nonlinear equation.

Another easy way to determine which of these functions you are dealing with is to graph it. By graphing these functions, you can tell if the line is straight or not. When graphed, a linear equation will have a straight line that has a constant slope. In contrast to this, a nonlinear equation will have a graph that does not have a straight line and, depending on the function, can have many different appearances including a U-shape or an S-shape.

A frog is sitting exactly in the middle of a board that is five feet long. Every ten seconds he jumps one foot to the left or on
mart [117]

Answer:

Since the Frog makes a Jump every 10 seconds

( using the digits on a random number table )

  • It will take 7 jumps with 2 jumps in reverse direction i.e. either left or right for the frog to be off the board in 60 seconds
  • it will take 3 jumps in similar direction as well to get the frog off the board
  • also 5 jumps with 1 jump in the opposite direction is what it will take to get the frog off the board as well within the time frame of 60 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

A frog sitting exactly in the middle of a board which is 5ft long : frog is 2.5 ft from the edge of the board

every 10 seconds the frog jumps ; L or R

If he jumps ; LLRLRL ( still on Board on the left-most square )

if he jumps ; LLRLL ( He is off the Board in fifty seconds )

Since the Frog makes a Jump every 10 seconds

( using the digits on a random number table )

  • It will take 7 jumps with 2 jumps in reverse direction i.e. either left or right for the frog to be off the board in 60 seconds
  • it will take 3 jumps in similar direction as well to get the frog off the board
  • also 5 jumps with 1 jump in the opposite direction is what it will take to get the frog off the board as well within the time frame of 60 seconds

There are exactly 2.54 centimeters in 1 inch. When using this conversion factor, how many significant figures are you limited t
IgorC [24]

Significant figures tells us that about how may digits we can count on to be precise given the uncertainty in our calculations or data measurements.

Since, one inch  = 2.54 cm.

This is equivalent as saying that 1.0000000.. inch = 2.540000... cm.

Since the inch to cm conversion doesn't add any uncertainty, so we are free to keep any and all the significant figures.

Since, being an exact number, it has an unlimited number of significant figures and thus when we convert inch to cm we multiply two exact quantities together. Therefore, it will have infinite number of significant figures.
