CAM is short for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. These medicines include those which don't have therapeutic claims and are purely experimental. With CAM being institutionalized in the US, the main positive effect is that the people can now explore unconventional medicine and give way to SME. One drawback is that there is no guarantee that these medicines are reliable and safe.
