Poppy seeds are extracted from the poppy capsule. Opium and alkaloids such as morphine, codeine are obtained from the inside, so they also have traces of these alkaloids but in low concentrations. It is an oleaginous and very energetic seed and its fat content is mostly omega-6, omega-9 and some omega-3.
The amount of protein is good, similar to sunflower seeds. It contains carbohydrates and its fiber content is high. It also contains vitamins of group B, vitamin B1 and folic acid. It also has some vitamin C and a good dose of vitamin E.
