Adaptation is a phenomenon that is about adjusting certain features to environmental conditions. Ie. birds are adapted to flight as they possess wings, very efficient lungs etc. or tropical plants are adapted to high temperature and humidity as they modified their photosynthesis process. but if some creature is adapted to the specific habitat or conditions, it is hard for it to manage in another habitat/different conditions. ie. birds are fast in the air but on the ground they are quite weak and prone to predators' attacks.
When the nurse has observed of a patient who runs a ventricular
tachycardia, it would likely show that their no presence of P waves, there is a
wide QRS complex in the monitor and the rate would range between 100 to 250, if
all manifest this in the monitor, it is likely that the patient has ventricular
tachycardia. The medication that the nurse should give to the client who has
exhibit this should have an anti-dysrhythmic drugs, that is important in the
first line of treatment. Drugs of these kind include, lidocaine, procainamide
and even amiodarone. If there is a need to correct the rhythm, it is likely
that cardioversion is given as a treatment.
Methylphenidate refers to a CNS stimulant mainly used in the treatment of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) in children between the age of 6 to 12, adults up to the age of 65, and adolescents. It can also be used in the treatment of narcolepsy.
However, the application of the drug may also bring some side-effects with it. Some of the common side-effects related to medicine are decreased appetite, headache, hallucinations, sweating, fever, dizziness, increased heart rate, weight loss, and others.
In the given case, due to the application of the drug, the child is having hallucinations. Thus, in the given case, the nurse should recommend the client to report the manifestations as quick as possible, and discontinue the use of medicine.
