Answer: The correct option is A

Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of a triangle is equal to the sum of the length of the 4 sides.

The vertex is:

(5,8), (12,0), (-5,0), (-1,8)

first, we see wich vertex have one element in common:

(5,8) and (-1, 8)

heer we have y = 8 constant, so this creates a line parallel to the x-axis.

The distance between these two vectors is:

(5, 8) - (-1, 8) = (6, 0)

the other ones with a term in common are:

d = √(6^2 + 0^2) = 6

(12, 0) and (-5, 0)

This also creates a parallel line to the x-axis.

the distance is:

(12,0) - (-5, 0) = (17, 0)

the distance is:

d = √(17^2 + 0^2) = 17

now, from the two pairs we have, we select the sides that are more close to the other (one where y = 0 and other where y = 8, because we now are looking for the lines that conect the two parallel lines we already described)  and we need to search for the clossest ones because in this way we ensure that the lines created between the vertex do not cross with eachother.

Those are:

(5,8) and (12,0)

The distance is:

(5,8) - (12,0) = (12 - 5, 8) = (7,8)

d = √(7^2 + 8^2) = 10.6

The other side is between the vertex:

(-5, 0) abd (-1, 8)

the distance is:

(-5, 0) - (-1, 8) = (-5 + 1, - 8) = (-4, -8)

d = √(/-4)^2 + (-8)^2) = 8.9

The perimeter is:

P = 8.9 + 10.6 + 17 + 6 = 42.5

Select the postulate that is illustrated for the real numbers 5+(-5)=0
ozzi

In this question , we have to find the postulate that is illustrated for the real numbers

5+(-5) = 0

The postulate is Additive inverse postulate which states that

a+ (-a) =0

Where a is the real number and -a is the opposite of a. It states that , if opposite of a number is added with the number, the result is 0 .

The legs of a right triangle measure
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

108 in²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the legs of a right triangle are 12" and 18".

Be cause it is a right triangle (with 90 degrees between the legs), we can arbitrarily assign one of these to be the height and the other value automatically becomes the base.

Let 12" be height and 18" be base

area = 1/2 x height x base

= 1/2 x 12 x 18

= 108 in²

I Need to find the Function Operations
Alinara [238K]

Answer:

1) (f+g)(x)=2x^2+3x-6

2) (f-g)(x)=2x^2+x

3) (f \cdot g)(x)=2x^3-4x^2-9x+9

Step-by-step explanation:

So we have the two functions:

f(x)=2x^2+2x-3\text{ and } g(x)=x-3

And we want to find (f+g)(x), (f-g)(x), and (f*g)(x).

1)

(f+g)(x) is the same to f(x)+g(x). Substitute:

(f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x)\\=(2x^2+2x-3)+(x-3)

Combine like terms:

=(2x^2)+(2x+x)+(-3-3)

Add:

=2x^2+3x-6

So:

(f+g)(x)=2x^2+3x-6

2)

(f-g)(x) is the same to f(x)-g(x). So:

(f-g)(x)=f(x)-g(x)\\=(2x^2+2x-3)-(x-3)

Distribute:

=(2x^2+2x-3)+(-x+3)

Combine like terms:

=(2x^2)+(2x-x)+(-3+3)

Simplify:

=2x^2+x

So:

(f-g)(x)=2x^2+x

3)

(f*g)(x) is the same to f(x)*g(x). Thus:

(f\cdot g)(x)=f(x)\cdot g(x)\\=(2x^2+2x-3)(x-3)

Distribute:

=(2x^2+2x-3)(x)+(2x^2+2x-3)(-3)

Distribute:

=(2x^3+2x^2-3x)+(-6x^2-6x+9)

Combine like terms:

=(2x^3)+(2x^2-6x^2)+(-3x-6x)+(9)

Simplify:

=2x^3-4x^2-9x+9

So:

(f \cdot g)(x)=2x^3-4x^2-9x+9
