4(x-3)-2+2x=5(3x-7)-9x

4x-12-r+2x=5(3x-7)-9

4x-12-r+2x=15x-35-9x

6x-12-r=15x-35-9x

6x-12-r=6x-35

add 12 to -35 which equals -23.

add 6x+6x it cancels out to 0.

-r=-23

to make r positive just add it -23

since 23 is already negative it would become a positive because a negative + negative= positive

answer: r=23

Help please <br> Right angle triangle
baherus [9]

Answer:

h ≈ 11.9

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the triangle is right we can use the cosine ratio to find h

cos24° = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} = \frac{h}{13}

Multiply both sides by 13

13 × cos24° = h

⇒ h = 11.9 cm ( to 1 dec. place )

The diagonal in a rectangle is 20 units long, and the angle between the diagonal and a side is 36º 42'.
mylen [45]
Side adjacent to the given angle: x
Diagonal=hypotenuse=20
cos (36° 42') =(side adjacent to angle 36° 42')/Hypotenuse
cos (36° 42')=x/20
Solving for x. Multiplying both sides of the equation by 20:
20 cos (36° 42')=20 (x/20)
20 cos (36° 42')=x
x=20 cos (36° 42')
x=20 (0.801775644)
x=16.03551288
x=16.04

svlad2 [7]

Given :

On a map with a scale 1: 25000 .

The area of a lake is 33.6 square centimeters.

To Find :

The actual area of the lake.

Solution :

Let, actual area of lake is A.

So,

\dfrac{33.6}{A}=\dfrac{1}{25000}\\\\A = 840000\ cm^2

We know , 1 \ cm^2 = 10^{-10}\ km^2

Area in km² is :

A = 840000\times 10^{-10}\ km^2\\\\A = 8.4 \times 10^{-5}\ km^2

Hence, this is the required solution.
