Answer:

5 m.

Explanation:

From newton's law of universal gravitation

F = Gmm'/r² ....................... Equation 1

Where F = Force between the giant lead spheres, r = distance between the spheres, mm' = product of their mass, G = universal constant.

Making mm' the subject of the equation

mm' = Fr²/G........................... Equation 2

Given: F = 0.010 N, r = 20 m

Substitute into equation 2

mm' = 0.010×20²/G

mm' = 4/G.

When the gravitational force between them is 0.16 N,

4/G = 0.16r²/G

Making r² the subject of the equation,

r² = 4/0.16

r² = 25

r = √25

r = 5 m.

Thus the distance is = 5 m.

A spring loaded toy shoots straight upward with a velocity of 4.5 m/s. Determine the maximum height it reaches. Determine the ti
Angelina_Jolie [31]

Recall that

{v_y}^2-{v_{0y}}^2=2a_y(y-y_0)

At its maximum height y_{\mathrm{max}}, the toy will have 0 vertical velocity, so that

-\left(4.5\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s}\right)^2=2\left(-9.8\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s^2}\right)y_{\mathrm{max}}

\implies y_{\mathrm{max}}=1.0\,\mathrm m

For the toy to reach this maximum height, it takes time t such that

\dfrac{0+v_0}2t=y_{\mathrm{max}}\implies t=0.46\,\mathrm s

which means it takes twice this time, i.e. t=0.92\,\mathrm s, for the toy to reach its original position.

The velocity of the toy when it falls 1.0 m below its starting point is

{v_y}^2-\left(4.5\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s}\right)^2=2\left(-9.8\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s^2}\right)(0-1.0\,\mathrm m)

\implies{v_y}^2=39.85\,\dfrac{\mathrm m^2}{\mathrm s^2}

\implies v_y=-6.4\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s}

where we took the negative square root because we expect the toy to be moving in the downward direction.

The ratio of the number of pigs to the number of horse in a farm is 2 to 3 (2:3), if therected are 24 horses, what is the number
pickupchik [31]

Answer:

16 pigs

Explanation:

Let the horses be H.

Let the pigs be P

Let the total number of animals be x.

Given the following data;

Ratio of P to H = 2:3 = 2 + 3 = 5

Number of horses = 24

To find the number of pigs;

First of all, we would determine the total number of animals x.

From the ratio of horse, H:

3/5 * x = 24

Cross-multiplying, we have;

3x = 120

x = 120/3 = 40

Next, we find the number of pigs;

Pigs = 2/5 * 40

Pigs = 80/5 = 16 pigs
