Linus van Pelt waits by himself for the Great Pumpkin to arrive. No one else believes in the Great Pumpkin. Linus believes that on Halloween night the Great Pumpkin will rise out of the pumpkin patch and fly around the world delivering toys to all the good children of the world. He is disappointed every year as the Great Pumpkin never arrives, but  never outgrows the belief of the Great Pumpkin. He goes from door to door trying to convince people to believe in the Great Pumpkin with him.
