Answer:

2.a)  3 ( x - 1 ) = 5x - 6 (Because the sides of a square are always equal)

b) 3 ( x - 1 ) = 5x - 6

    => 3x - 3 = 5x - 6

    => 3x - 5x = -6 + 3 (Law of transposition)

    => -2x = -3

    => -x = -3/2

    => -x = -1.5

    => x = 1.5 (By cancelling out the negative sign from both the sides)

c)  3(x-1) = 3 (1.5 - 1)

    => 3 (0.5)

    => 3 * 0.5 = 1.5

Both the angles are 1.5 because they are equal

If my answer helped, please mark me as the brainliest!!

Thank You!

Ella has 0.5 lbs of sugar. How much water should she add to make the following concentrations? Tell Ella how much syrup she will
HACTEHA [7]

Ella has to add 32.833 lbs of water to get 33.333 lbs of syrup.

<u>Solution:</u>

Ella has 0.5 lbs of sugar. Let x lbs be the amount of water Ella should add to get the 1.5% of syrup,

\Rightarrow0.5\text{ lbs }- 1.5\%

\Rightarrow x+0.5\text{ lbs }- 100\%

On writing the proportion,

\Rightarrow\dfrac{0.5}{x+0.5}=\dfrac{1.5}{100}\\ \\\Rightarrow0.5\cdot 100=(x+0.5)\cdot 1.5\\ \\\Rightarrow50=1.5x+0.75\\ \\\Rightarrow1.5x=50-0.75\\ \\\Rightarrow1.5x=49.25\\ \\\Rightarrow x=\dfrac{49.25}{1.5}\approx 32.833\ lbs

To get 1.5% syrup Ella should add 32.833 lbs of water. The total weight of syrup is 33.333 lbs.

Shanley would like to give $5 gift cards
Serjik [45]

Answer:

$5x + $4y ≤ $120

let x = 10

y = 5

$70  ≤ 120

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that

> means greater than

< means less than

≥  means greater or equal to

≤ means less than or equal to

the total amount Shanley has is $120. She can spend less than this amount or the amount exactly. So, the inequality sign to be used is ≤

$5x + $4y ≤ $120

let x = 10

y = 5

(50) + 20  ≤ 120

$70 ≤  120

Answer this by 4:20 EST and I will mark brainliest
Alexxandr [17]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

Calculate the slope m using the slope formula

m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}  }{x_{2}-x_{1}  }

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (6, a ) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (9, - 4 )

m = \frac{-4-a}{9-6} = \frac{-4-a}{3}

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

2x - 3y = 6 ( subtract 2x from both sides )

- 3y = - 2x + 6 ( divide through by - 3 )

y = \frac{2}{3} x - 2 ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = \frac{2}{3}

Parallel lines have equal slopes , then

\frac{-4-a}{3} = \frac{2}{3} , so

- 4 - a = 2 ( add 4 to both sides )

-a = 6 ( multiply both sides by - 1 )

a = - 6 → A
