Ok, so at first this question seems tricky, since 5 does not go into 25.  However, you can't have a percentage of 1 person.  Since 5 goes into 25 5 times, then we will go with that.  So multiply 3 x 5 to get 15 girls.  Because you can't have a fraction of a single person.

You have to use proportion for this problem, so you do

5 boys  =  3 girls
24 boys =  ? girls
24 times 3 equals 72. 72 divided by 5 equals 14.4. You have to round this answer to get 15 girls.
Hope this helped :D

Malia is placing a barrier around the edge of a circular path with the diameter of 13 M the barrier are in length of 2.5 M.
Dmitriy789 [7]
The circumference of a circle of diameter 13 m is 13π m, about 40.82 m.

(40.82 m)/(2.5 m) = 16.328

16 may be the best approximation of the number of pieces Malia will need. 17 pieces will make a barrier that is longer (larger diameter) than is needed.

M is the midpoint of line segment AB
SVEN [57.7K]

Answer:

The coordinates of A would be (-1, 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find this, use the mid-point formula.

(xA + xB)/2 = xM

In this, the xA is the x value of point A, xB is the x value of point B, and xM is the x value of M. Now we plug in the known information and solve for xA.

(xA + 5)/2 = 2

xA + 5 = 4

xA = -1

Now we can do the same using the midpoint formula and the y values.

(yA + yB)/2 = yM

(yA + 10)/2 = 6

yA + 10 = 12

yA = 2

This gives us the midpoint of (-1, 2)

The equation of line p is y=ax+b. Which of these could be the equation of line q? A.y=−3a(x+6)+b
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
The slope of line q is that of line p scaled by a factor of 3 (not -3). The y-intercept of line q is 6 less than the y-intercept of line p. The appropriate choice is
  D. y = 3ax +b -6
