Help me please!! I need to find the average of x, y, and z **in terms of m**!

Mathematics

4 0
Remark
The average is going to be (x + y + z)/3

Givens
x = (m + 9) / 2
y = (2m + 15) / 2
z = (3m + 18) / 2

Formula
average = (x + y + z)/3
Total = ((m + 9)/2 + (2m+15)/2 + (3m + 18)/2 ))

Solution
Total = (m + 2m + 3m) / 2 + (9 + 15 + 18) / 2
Total = ((6m + 42) / 2 )
Total = 6m/2 + 42/2
Total = 3m + 21
Average = (3m + 21)/3
Average = 3m/3 + 21/3
Average = m + 7

The graph of a function f is given. Use the graph to estimate the following. (Enter your answers using interval notation.)
kirill [66]

Using the graph and function concepts, it is found that:

a) The domain is [-5,4], while the range is [-2,-5]

b) The function is increasing in [0,1] and [2,3], and decreasing [-5,0], [1,2], and [3,4].

--------------------

  • The domain of a function is given by it's input values, that is, the values of x, the horizontal axis on the <em>graph</em>.
  • The range of a function is given by it's output values, that is, the values of y, the vertical axis on the <em>graph</em>.
  • If the <em>graph </em>is pointing upwards, the function increases.
  • If the <em>graph </em>is pointing downwards, the function decreases.

--------------------

Item a:

  • On the graph, the x-values are from -5 to 4, thus the domain is: [-5,4]
  • The y-values are from -2 to -5, thus, the range is: [-2,-5]

--------------------

Item b:

  • On the graph, it is pointing upwards on the following intervals, for x-values: From 0 to 1, and from 2 to 3, thus, the function is increasing in [0,1] and [2,3].
  • On the other intervals,  [-5,0], [1,2], and [3,4], the function is decreasing.
