The statement that heredity is considered a controllable risk factor is false. Controllable risk factors are risk factors that can be controlled by ourselves. It means that we can change our behavior and habits in order to achieve healthier life. Heredity, on the other hand is something we are born with.  Some characteristics are transmitted from parents to the offspring and they can not be changed.
