A) Less diversity of plants
B) prolonged drought
C) increase in invasive species
D) plant populations increase

I know it is not C) increase in invasive species

I’m not sure about B) prolonged drought

I’m thinking either A) less diversity of plants or D) plant populations increase

I think it is plant populations increase because ash is very good for plants to grow. Many people use it as fertilizer.

Answer:

A) Less diversity of plants.

Explanation:

After a volcanic eruption, lava, mud flows and ash can travel hundreds of miles. On the long term, these sediments can function as fertilizers and cause plant populations to increase. However, an initial consequence (in the short term) is less diversity of plants. This is because the mud and lava can kill plants that surround the volcano, as well as make it very difficult for these to recover.

How does nitrification occur in nature, starting from gaseous Nitrogen?
Alecsey [184]
Nitrification. The conversion of ammonium to nitrate is performed primarily by soil-living bacteria and other nitrifying bacteria. In the primary stage of nitrification, the oxidation of ammonium ( NH+4) is performed by bacteria such as the Nitrosomonas species, which converts ammonia to nitrites ( NO−2).

tekilochka [14]

Era is used to mark the boundaries of geological time scale by using radio carbon dating technique.

Explanation:

Geological time starts with Precambrian time.

Geologically, time is divided between the Precambrian era and present time into era.

The three eras are Paleozoic era, Triassic period and Cenozoic era.

Era is further divided into periods.

Scientists use radio carbon dating to study fossils and rock formation. With this study they were able to divide them in exact geological scale.

Geologic scale is the record of events in earth's history and evolution.
