2 hours and 30 minutes would be more than 10% of a day.

There are 1440 minutes in a day and 10% of that is 144 minutes. 2 hours 30 minutes converted to minutes is 150 minutes. This just shows 2 hours and 30 minutes would be more.

What is the answer to the equation7/8(x - 1/2)=-49/80
Anna007 [38]
7/8(x-1/2)=-49/80
70/80(x-40/80)=-49/80     make all common denominator
x-40/80=-56/80                  divide -49/80 by 70/80 to isolate parentheses
x=16/80 or 1/5                   add 40/80 to isolate x

"Write two equations: one parallel, one perpendicular to (5,-2) y= 1/5x-3
guajiro [1.7K]

Answer:

For parallel:

gradient is 1/5

y = mx + c

consider (5, -2):

- 2 = ( \frac{1}{5}  \times 5) + c \\  - 2 = 1 + c \\ c =  - 3

{ \boxed{ \bf{equation : y =  \frac{1}{5}x - 3 }}}

For perpendicular:

gradient, m1:

m _{1} \times m_{2} =  - 1 \\ m _{1} \times  \frac{1}{5}  =  - 1 \\  \\ m _{1} =  - 5

gradient = -5

y = mx + c \\  - 2 = (5 \times -  5) + c \\  - 2 =  - 25 + c \\ c =  23

{ \boxed{ \bf{equation :y =  - 5x + 23 }}}

Hey surveyor is measuring the distance across a small lake. He has set up his transit on one side of the lake 150 feet from a Pi
AleksAgata [21]

Answer: 87 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

The angle between the pilling is 60°

The adjacent side of the right angle is 150

So let the distance between the pilling be y, that is opposite side.

Opposite / adjacent = tan (60°)

y / 150 = tan (60)

y × tan (60°) = 150

Divide both side by tan (60°)

y = 150 / tan (60°)

y = 150 / 1.7321

y = 87 feet
