Answer:

If a person has a diet high in saturated fats, LDL cholesterol molecules can carry cholesterol from the liver to cells and to the arterial walls whereas HDL cholesterol transports cholesterol from the cells to the liver where it is converted to bile salts which can modulate cardiovascular function.

Explanation:

Cholesterol is a lipid generated in the liver that is used to make hormones and vitamin D, but can also be ingested when eating fats.

Cholesterol can be divided into two types: LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and HDL (high-density lipoprotein).

LDL is commonly known as the "bad cholesterol" and is responsible for the deposit of cholesterol in the walls of arteries, which generates atherosclerosis and can potentially lead to strokes or heart attacks because it occludes the vessels and makes it impossible for the blood to advance.

HDL is also called "good cholesterol" because it takes the cholesterol from the cells to the liver where it'll serve a good cause, instead of blocking the arteries.

To reduce the amount of LDL, it's best to limit the consumption of fatty meats, dairy products and other saturated fats. Foods with a good amount of HDL are those with unsaturated fats, like fish, nuts and seeds.

De acuerdo al siguiente enunciado, responda: "sus funciones son similares; difieren en su origen embrionario y en su plan de con
salantis [7]

Answer:

el enunciado hace referencia a estructuras análogas

Explanation:

Humans can be attacked by many different parasites (many species of bacteria, viruses, fungi, flatworm, apicomplexan, etc). Is i
dsp73

Answer:

Yes

Explanation:

Humans can be attacked by many microbes like bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites like flatworms, etc. These parasites and microbes cause different infections and diseases in humans.

This is true to most other species that they also face a similar array of parasite because every species represents a source which can be exploited by an array of parasites. Each parasite attacks on specific organs or tissue which allow different parasite to attack different organs. Therefore it is reasonable.

Hershey and Chase used the 35S isotope to label proteins. How does this isotope differ from the 32S isotope found in greatest na
dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

The correct answer would be C. ³⁵S has more neutrons than ³²S; Hershey and Chase used it because it is radioactive and can be easily traced.

Sulfur-35 (³⁵S) is one of the isotopes of the sulfur which has 16 protons (same as sulfur-32) but 19 neutrons as compared to the 16 neutrons of sulfur-32.

It is a radioactive isotope which breaks down by beta-decay and gets converted into ³⁵Cl.

They used ³⁵S for radioactive labeling of the protein coat of the bacteriophage. It helped them to trace the movement or transfer of protein efficiently.
