Answer: m = $52

Explanation:
Tickets (t) = $8
Popcorn & Soda (s)= $5
Friends = 4
Since all friends bought the same thing the equation will be set as
4(t +s) = m OR 4t +4s = m
Using substitution, you plug each variable
t = 8 and s = 5
4((8) + (5)) = m
4(8+5) = m => 4(13) =m => 52=m
OR
4(8) + 4(5) = m => 32 + 20 = m =>
52 =m

Consider the attached tree.

You start from the root, and with each level you create a sub-branch for each of the choices you have.

So, the root has two children, white and multigrain bread.

Each of those children has three children, because you have three meat choices

Each of those children has two children, because you have two cheese choices.

Then, you identify all the sandwiches by choosing a leaf, and read the label that lead you there.

For example, leaf number 4 represents a sandwich with white bread, turkey and provolone.

e) Given the following: Let X = {1, 2, 3, 4) and a relation R on X as R= {(1,2), (2,3), (3,4)}. Find the reflexive and transitiv
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

The answer is \{(1,1),(2,2),(3,3),(4,4),(1,2)(2,3)(3,4),(1,3),(1,4)\}

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember that a reflexive relation R\subset \mathcal{P}(X), where \mathcal{P}(X) is the power set of X, is one which conteins the ordered pairs of the form (a,a), for a\in X.

So, As the reflexive and transitive closure of R (that we will denote by \overline{R}) is in particular reflexive, we must add to R  the elements \{(1,1) , (2,2),(3,3),(4,4) \}

A transitive relation R is one in which if the pair (a,b) and the pair (b,c) are in there, then the pair (a,c) must be there too.

So, to complete the relation R to be reflexive and transitive we must add the pair (1,3) (because (1,2),(2,3) are in R), the pair (2,4), and the pair (1,4) because we added the pair (2,4).

Therfore we have that \overline{R}=\{(1,1),(2,2),(3,3),(4,4),(1,2)(2,3)(3,4),(1,3),(1,4)\}.

Find the slope of the line that passes through the points (−2/3, 3/4) and (5/6, −1/2).
EastWind [94]

Answer:

-\frac{5}{6}

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the slope formula :\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

-1/2 is y2, 3/4 is y1, 5/6 is x2, and -2/3 is x1.

\frac{-1/2-3/4}{5/6-(-2/3)}

\frac{-5/4}{5/6+2/3}

\frac{-5/4}{9/6}

\frac{-5}{4} ÷ \frac{9}{6}

-\frac{5}{4} • \frac{6}{9}

-\frac{5}{2} • \frac{3}{9}

-\frac{15}{18}

-\frac{5}{6}

Hope this helps! Let me know if I got it wrong.
