<h3>Answer:</h3>

             Number of Protons =  6

             Number of Electrons  =  6

             Number of Neutrons  =  7

<h3>Explanation:</h3>

Number of Protons:

                               As the number of protons present in the nucleus are equal to the atomic number therefore, using periodic table one can easily find out the atomic number of C atom. Hence, C is present in group 14 and period 2 and having an atomic number of 6. Therefore, number of protons in C atom are 6.

Number of Electrons:

                                 As shown in statement, C is not carrying any type of charge. It means this atom is neutral in nature. Which means, it is carrying the same number of electrons as the number of protons in order to give a neutral atom. Therefore, it contains 6 electrons.

Number of Neutrons:

                                  Number of neutrons can be calculated using following formula,

                  No. of Neutrons  =  Atomic Mass - Number of Protons

As,

                                    Atomic Mass  =  13

So,

                                    No. of Neutrons  =  13 - 6

                                    No. of Neutrons  =  7

The number of protons in _{\mathbf{6}}^{{\mathbf{13}}}{\mathbf{C}} is \boxed6.

The number of neutrons in _{\mathbf{6}}^{{\mathbf{13}}}{\mathbf{C}}  is  \boxed7.

The number of electrons in _{\mathbf{6}}^{{\mathbf{13}}}{\mathbf{C}} is  \boxed6.

Further explanation:

The <em>smallest particle</em> that is the <em>building block of matter</em> is known as an<em> atom</em>. Most of the space in an atom is empty, and its <em>mass</em> is concentrated inside a small region called the <em>nucleus</em>.

An atom is written as _{\text{Z}}^{\text{A}}{\text{X}} , where A is the mass number, Z is the atomic number and X is the letter symbol of the element.

Protons, electrons, and neutrons are the three subatomic particles that are present in the atom. The <em>Protons and neutrons </em>present in an atom are collectively called <em>nucleons</em> because these are located in the nucleus of the atom. Electrons revolve around the nucleus in definite orbits.

The positively charged subatomic particle is called proton. It is equal to the atomic number (Z) of the element.

Electron is the negatively charged subatomic particle. The number of electrons present in an atom is equal to the number of protons of an atom in a neutral atom.

The subatomic particle with no charge is called neutron. It is situated within the nucleus. The number of neutrons present in the nucleus of an atom is called the neutron number. Atomic mass or mass number is the total number of nucleons within the atomic nucleus. So if the atomic number or the proton number is known, the number of neutrons can be calculated by the difference of mass number (A) and atomic number (Z).

Given element is _{\text{6}}^{{\text{13}}}{\text{C}}. By comparing it with the general representation of an atom \left({_{\text{Z}}^{\text{A}}{\text{X}}}\right) , it is clear that the given atom carbon has atomic number 6 and mass number 13.

As we know, the number of protons is equal to the atomic number of the element. So number of protons in _{\text{6}}^{{\text{13}}}{\text{C}} is 6.

The number of electrons is equal to number of protons in a neutral atom. So number of electrons in _{\text{6}}^{{\text{13}}}{\text{C}} is also 6.

The number of neutrons present in the carbon atom can be calculated as follows:

Number of neutrons = Mass number (A) –Atomic number (Z)

Substitute 13 for mass number and 6 for the atomic number in the above equation, we get:

\begin{aligned}{\text{Number of neutrons}}&=13 - 6\\&=7\\\end{aligned}

So the number of protons, electrons, and neutrons in _{\mathbf{6}}^{{\mathbf{13}}}{\mathbf{C}} are 6, 6, and 7 respectively.

The activation energy of an uncatalyzed reaction is 70 kJ/mol. When a catalyst is added, the activation energy (at 20 °C) is 42
denis23 [38]

Answer:

T = 215.33 °C

Explanation:

The activation energy is given by the Arrhenius equation:

k = Ae^{\frac{-Ea}{RT}}

<u>Where:</u>

k: is the rate constant

A: is the frequency factor

Ea: is the activation energy

R: is the gas constant = 8.314 J/(K*mol)

T: is the temperature

We have for the uncatalyzed reaction:

Ea₁ = 70 kJ/mol

And for the catalyzed reaction:

Ea₂ = 42 kJ/mol

T₂ = 20 °C = 293 K

The frequency factor A is constant and the initial concentrations are the same.

Since the rate of the uncatalyzed reaction (k₁) is equal to the rate of the catalyzed reaction (k₂), we have:

k_{1} = k_{2}

Ae^{\frac{-Ea_{1}}{RT_{1}}} = Ae^{\frac{-Ea_{2}}{RT_{2}}}   (1)

By solving equation (1) for T₁ we have:

T_{1} = \frac{T_{2}*Ea_{1}}{Ea_{2}} = \frac{293 K*70 kJ/mol}{42 kJ/mol} = 488. 33 K = 215.33 ^\circ C

Therefore, we need to heat the solution at 215.33 °C so that the rate of the uncatalyzed reaction is equal to the rate of the catalyzed reaction.

I hope it helps you!

Which of the following numbers has three significant figures?
navik [9.2K]

Answer:

The correct answer is 101 feet.

Explanation:

To solve this problem, we need to remember the rules of significant figures.  Any digit that is not zero is significant, and any zero is significant if it is between two non-zero digits or a trailing zero after the decimal point.  Now, let's apply these rules to the options that are given:

1000 yards - Since the zeros are not after the decimal point or between two other digits, they are not significant.  This means the only significant digit is 1, so there is only 1 significant digit.

1014 miles - All three of the non-zero digits are significant, and the 0 is significant in this case because it is between two other significant digits.  Therefore, this number has 4 significant digits.

101 feet - The two 1's are significant because they are non-zero digits, and the zero is also significant because it is between the two 1's.  Therefore, this number has 3 significant digits.

Thus, your answer is 101 feet.

Hope this helps!
