Select the correct answer from each drop-down menu. Margie is practicing for an upcoming tennis tournament. Her first serve is g

ood 20 out of 30 times on average. Margie wants to know the estimated probability that her first serve will be good at least four of the next six times she serves. How could she design a simulation for this scenario? The scenario can be simulated by rolling a six-sided die ---- times. The ----- would represent the number of Margie's good first serves. If the ------- appear in a set of outcomes one time each, it would mean that at least four of the next six first serves that Margie makes will be good. 1)2,4,6,10 ------------------------------ 2)numbers 1 to 3 numbers 1 to 4 numbers 4 to 6 numbers 2 to 4. ----------------------------- 3)numbers 0 to 1 numbers 5 to 6 numbers 4 to 6 numbers 1 to 4

What is the perimeter of the rectangle shown on the coordinate plane, to the nearest tenth of a unit?
const2013 [10]

Answer:

Perimeter of rectangle = 6√26 or 30.59 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the rectangle ABCD

so, co-ordinate of A= (-6,4) = (x1,y1)

co-ordinate of B= (4,2) = (x2,y2)

co-ordinate of C= (3,-3) = (x3,y3)

co-ordinate of D= (-7,-1) = (x4,y4)

In rectangle ABCD

AB = CD ( opposite sides of rectangle are equal)

and, AD = BC ( opposite sides of rectangle are equal)

Now, using distance formula

AB = √(x2-x1)² + (y2-y1)²

     =√(4-(-6))²+ (2-4)²

     =√(4+6)² + (-2)²

     =√(10)² + (4)

      =√100+4

      =√104

      =2√26 units

so,AB = CD = 2√26 units

again,by using distance formula

     BC = √(x3-x2)² + (y3-y2)²

           =√(3-4)² + ( -3-2)²

           =√(-1)² + (-5)²

           =√1 + 25

           =√26 units

so, AD = BC =√26 units

Now,

  Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length of rectangle+breadth of rectangle)

    =2(2√26 + √26)           (AB =CD = 2√26 units & AD = BC = √26 units)

    =2.3√26

     =6√26 units

Answer is 6√26 or 30.59 units

From the observation deck of the lighthouse at Sasquatch Point 55 feet above the surface of Lake Ippizuti, a lifeguard spots a b
kkurt [141]

Answer:

272.17 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the angle of depression of the sighting equals the angle of elevation of the lighthouse from the boat, using trigonometric ratios,

tanθ = x/d where θ = angle of sighting, x = height of lighthouse =55 ft and d = distance of boat from lighthouse at sighting

So, d = x/tanθ

when θ = 8.1°, for the first sighting,

d₁ = 55/tan8.1 = 386.45 ft

when θ = 25.7°, for the second sighting,

d₂ = 55/tan8.1 = 114.28 ft

The distance the boat traveled between the two sightings is thus d₁ - d₂ = 386.45 ft - 114.28 ft = 272.17 ft

Find AB if A(-1,7) and B (11, -1). Round your answer to the nearest tenth.
Luden [163]

Answer:

<h3>The answer is 14.4 units</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance between two points can be found by using the formula

d =  \sqrt{ ({x1 - x2})^{2} +  ({y1 - y2})^{2}  } \\

where

(x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) are the points

From the question the points are

A(-1,7) and B (11, -1)

The distance between them is

|AB|  =  \sqrt{( { - 1 - 11})^{2}  + ( {7 + 1})^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{ ({ - 12})^{2}  +  {8}^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{144 + 64}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  =  \sqrt{208}  \\  =  4\sqrt{13}  \\  =14.42220510...

We have the final answer as

<h3>14.4 units to the nearest tenth</h3>

Hope this helps you
