There is a 120 V circuit in a house that is a dedicated line for the dishwasher, meaning the dishwasher is the only resistor on

that circuit line. If the dishwasher draws 18 A of electricity, what would the resistance of the dishwasher be? Round the answer to the nearest hundredth of an ohm.

Answer : Resistance of the dishwasher is 6.67 ohms.

Explanation :

It is given that,

Total voltage flowing in a house, V = 120 V

Current flowing, I = 18 A

According to Ohm's law :

V = I R ...........(1)

R is the resistance of the circuit.

Putting all values in (1) we get :

R=\dfrac{V}{I}

R=\dfrac{120\ V}{18\ A}

R=6.666\ \Omega

or

R=6.67\ \Omega

So, the resistance of the dishwasher is R=6.67\ \Omega.

Sheila eats an energy bar right before she goes on a run. What energy changes will occur in sheila as she runs after eating?
LiRa [457]
The energy bar eaten by Sheila has chemical energy locked up inside it. This chemical energy is converted to mechanical energy in form of potential and kinetic energy and this in turn is converted to heat energy as the run progresses. Thus, the energy changes are: chemical energy to mechanical energy [kinetic and potential] and finally to heat energy.

The slope of a Velocity versus Time graph will tell you the object’s what?
Verizon [17]
Hope it helped you.

My name is Charlie.

Today this question is about science,or chemistry.

A. Acceleration is a correct answer. Acceleration is a rate of change in velocity.

It change in velocity/change in time. Next, to slope will be indicated by the acceleration.

B Change in position is a incorrect answer.

C. Velocity is a incorrect answer. Velocity is a displacement of an object during a specific unit of time. It can used two measurements are needed to determine velocity. It displacement or by the time. Displacement it includes a direction, so the velocity will also includes a direction. It can used speed with direction. Velocity it can be average velocity or an instantaneous velocity.

Find the focal length of a lens of power-2.0D . What type of lens is this ?
olga_2 [115]

Answer: f = - 0.50 m, negative (diverging) lens

Explanation: D-value (diopter ) means 1/f, unit is 1/m. Thus -2.0D

Means f = ( 1/ -2.0 ) m = -0.50 m
