The dominant process helps in the classification of mountains.

Further Explanation:

Mountains are formed by the tension, shear, and compression developed in the lithosphere.

This pressure has a major role in developing the physical characteristic. According to the physical characteristics, mountains are of four types namely:

  • Folded Mountain: the collision of the intercontinental plate forms it.
  • Dome Mountain: It has a rounded appearance present in the flat region. It is further divided into two categories, named as tectonic and plutonic.
  • Fault Block Mountain: They are formed by the combination of uplift forces and tension. The name and appearance of the mountains are determined by the cracking and stretching of their crust.
  • Horst and Grabens: This Mountain is considered as large blocks of land. Due to the direct plate interaction, they are dropped or uplifted.

A large landform, which rises above the surrounding land in a confined region, generally in the form of a peak is known as the mountain. The classification of mountains into various types is done on the basis of the geologic procedure taking part in their generation. The mountains are classified into four distinct kinds on the basis of the underlying process of formation, that is, the fault-block Mountains, Fold Mountains, Dome Mountains, and the volcanic mountains.

Ways in which eutrophication can be reduced in waterways?
AveGali [126]

when excess fertilizers wash off of the nearby farms and into the lake, they become food for the algal blooms that can plague the lake in the summer. So, reducing fertilizer use and preventing runoff directly into the lake would be one way of reducing eutrophication.

Lemur [1.5K]
Niche refers to the role of the microorganism or a living thing in an ecosystem. When two organisms occupying the same niche, the possible long-term consequence isA. local extinction. This is because the relationship is competition which can outlast the other. Eventually, when the environment is changed, the organisms adapt too which erases the original attributes.
