Answer=67.5 mph

22 1/2 miles   1/3hours

(22 1/2)/(1/3)=67.5miles per hour

____________________________
another way to solve this would be....

    1/3              1
_______=________
 22 1/2            x

cross multiply
(1/3)x=22 1/2
divide both sides by 1/3
x=67.5miles per hour

Rod smokes 1 1/2 packs of cigarettes per day. Rod buys cigarettes by the carton. There are ten packs of cigarettes in each carto
nadezda [96]

Answer:

It costs Rod $5.37 per day to smoke.

Step-by-step explanation:

If a carton costs 35.80 and there are 10 packs per carton

$35.80 /10 = 3.58 per pack

Rod smokes 1.5 packs per day

1.5 * 3.58 = $5.37

It costs Rod $5.37 per day to smoke.

Anyone know how to work this out
Leona [35]

Answer:

The perimeter is 70

Step-by-step explanation:

Isosceles means all sides same length. So to start out, you need to firgure out x so you can do let's say 3x-5=19x, or you can do 2x=19-x, or an combination pretty much. Once completing this, you find that x=14. Now all you have to do is plug 14 into all the x spots, and add everything together

Hope it helped :-)

We are interested in the dimensions of a certain square. A rectangle has a length of 5 units more than the side of the square an
JulijaS [17]
Lets consider the side of square be 'x' units
So as per data,
Length of rectangle is x+5
Breadth of rectangle is x/2

and also as per data, the areas of rectangle and square are equal.
Area of rectangle = Length * Breadth = (x+5)*x/2 = ( x^{2} +5x)/2 <- equation1
Area of square = Side* Side= x*x = x^{2}  <- equation2

As per given data, Equation1 and equation 2 are equal
so
( x^{2} +5x)/2 = tex] x^{2} [/tex]
x^{2} +5x = 2 x^{2}
2 x^{2} -  x^{2}   = 5x
x^{2}  = 5x
x = 5

So the side of square = 5 units

For Square, both dimensions are equal.

Which of the following is an outlier in the set of data below?
Elden [556K]
The answer is choice A) 2

The main cluster of data is the group {12, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19} as they aren't very far apart in distance (plot the values on a number line). The range of this group is 7 since 19-12 = 7. Compare this to the distance from 2 to 12 which is 10 units; a far greater distance than 7. So the value 2 is on its own on an "island" so to speak
