1)  3(x+7)=6(x+2)

2)Multiply the number on the outside by the numbers on the inside

 3x+21 =6x+12

3)Subtract 3x from 6x. When you do that it cancels out itself on the side it came from leaving you with only 21 one that side.

21=3x+12

4)Subtract 12 from 21. When you do that it cancels out itself on the side it came from leaving you with only 3x on that side.

9=3x

5)  Divide 3x from both sides that will cancel out the x leaving you with only 1x and it will turn the 9 into 3.

9/3x=3x/3x

x=3
