Answer:

There are 24 different lunch specials in the sample space.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

The choices for soup are chicken noodle or creamy potato.

The choices for sandwich are ham, turkey, tuna, or veggie.

The choices for drink are juice, coffee or tea.

A lunch menu consists of 2 different soups , 4 different sandwiches, and 3 different drinks.

Here, the order doesn't matter,

Suppose you are going to order a lunch, the number of ways you can select the soup is 2:

Now you are going to select the sandwich so the number of ways are:

2 × 4

You are going to select the drink so the number of ways are:

2 × 4× 3

To find the number sample space for different lunch simply multiply all the numbers:

2 × 4× 3 = 24

Hence, there are 24 different lunch specials in the sample space.

To do this, simply multiply each value of options together
Soup = 2 choices
Sandwich = 4 choices
Drink = 3 choices
2x4x3 = 24 lunch specials

Problem 1)

AC is only perpendicular to EF if angle ADE is 90 degrees

(angle ADE) + (angle DAE) + (angle AED) = 180
(angle ADE) + (44) + (48) = 180
(angle ADE) + 92 = 180
(angle ADE) + 92 - 92 = 180 - 92
angle ADE = 88

Since angle ADE is actually 88 degrees, we do NOT have a right angle so we do NOT have a right triangle

Triangle AED is acute (all 3 angles are less than 90 degrees)

So because angle ADE is NOT 90 degrees, this means AC is NOT perpendicular to EF

-------------------------------------------------------------

Problem 2)

a) The center is (2,-3)

The center is (h,k) and we can see that h = 2 and k = -3. It might help to write (x-2)^2+(y+3)^2 = 9 into (x-2)^2+(y-(-3))^2 = 3^3 then compare it to (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2

---------------------

b) The radius is 3 and the diameter is 6

From part a), we have (x-2)^2+(y-(-3))^2 = 3^3 matching (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2

where
h = 2
k = -3
r = 3

so, radius = r = 3
diameter = d = 2*r = 2*3 = 6

---------------------

c) The graph is shown in the image attachment. It is a circle with center point C = (2,-3) and radius r = 3.

Some points on the circle are

A = (2, 0)
B = (5, -3)
D = (2, -6)
E = (-1, -3)

Note how the distance from the center C to some point on the circle, say point B, is 3 units. In other words segment BC = 3.

A pair of dice is rolled. find the probability of each

P(Odd sum)
mestny [16]

P(Odd sum) = 1/2 or 50%

For two dice rolls to have an odd sum either the 1st one is even and the 2nd is odd or the 1st one is odd and the 2nd is even.

The chance for the 1st one being even is 1/2, same for 2nd being odd. So the chance that the 1st is even and the 2nd is odd is 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4. This also applies for the 1st one being odd and the 2nd being even, so the chance that the 1st is odd and the 2nd is even is also 1/4.

So then you add these two probabilities, 1/4 + 1/4 = 1/2 which is the answer.
