Cerrena [4.2K]3 years ago
4 0

Answer:

First multiply 12 by 16 to find the total number of cans the boys collected.

12 * 16 = 192

Do the same thing with the girls.

15 * 14 = 210

Now, subtract the 2 amounts.

210 - 192 = 18

The girls collected 18 more cans than the boys.

Hope this helps!

What is the result when like terms are combined in the expression
pentagon [3]

Answer:Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.1

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.A.2

Solve word problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.

Understand and apply properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.B.3

Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract.2 Examples: If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.B.4

Understand subtraction as an unknown-addend problem. For example, subtract 10 - 8 by finding the number that makes 10 when added to 8.

Add and subtract within 20.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.C.5

Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2).

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.C.6

Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).

Work with addition and subtraction equations.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.D.7

Understand the meaning of the equal sign, and determine if equations involving addition and subtraction are true or false. For example, which of the following equations are true and which are false? 6 = 6, 7 = 8 - 1, 5 + 2 = 2 + 5, 4 + 1 = 5 + 2.

Choose a system of equations with the same solution as the following system:
Lina20 [59]

Answer:

Option A.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given 6x+2y =-6 ......(1) and 3x-4y=-18 .....(2)

Solving equations (1) and (2) we get

12x+3x =-30, ⇒x= -2 and from equation (1), 2y= -6-6(-2) =6, ⇒ y=3

Therefore, the solution for the given set of equations is x= -2 and y=3

A) Solving the equations 8x+4y = -4 ....... (3)and 17x+2y =-28, we get

8x -34x = -4 -(-56) =52, ⇒-26x =52, ⇒x=-2 and from equation )(3), we get -16+4y =-4, ⇒ y=3

Therefore, the solution x=-2 and y =3 match with the original solution.

B)Solving the equations 12x + 4y = 12 ....... (4)and 21x + 2y = −36, we get

12x -42x = 12 -(-72) =84, ⇒-30x =84, ⇒x=-84/30.

Therefore, the solution x=-84/30 does not match with the original solution.

C) Solving the equations 6x + 8y = −36 ....... (4) and 15x + 6y = −60, we get 18x -60x = -108 -(-240) =132, ⇒-42x =132, ⇒x=-132/42

Therefore, the solution x=--3  do not match with the original solution.

D) Solving the equations 6x + y = 15 ....... (5) and 15x − y = −9, we get 6x +15x = 6, ⇒21x =6, ⇒x=2/7

Therefore, the solution x=2/7  do not match with the original solution.

Therefore, option A) will have the same solution. (Answer)

What is the surface area of a cone with a diameter of 28 cm. and height 22 cm in terms of Ï.
Svetlanka [38]

To find the surface area of a cone, use this formula.

pi (r) (r + [square root of h^2 plus r^2] )        substitute

h = height = 22                  r = radius = 28/2 = 14      [ ] = sq. root

pi (14) (14 + [ 22^2 + 14^2 ])                        solve exponents

pi (14) (14 + [484 + 196])                             add

pi (14) (14 + [680])                                       solve square root

pi (14) (14 + 2[170])                                     add

pi (14) (40.0768)                                         multiply

pi (561.075)  is about 561.1 rounded to nearest tenth

So the answer is C. 561.1pi cm^2

A bag of rice weighs 3.18 pounds. Find its mass in kilograms. ( 1 kg = 2.2 lb)
jeka57 [31]
Hello! So, to find the mass of the bag of rice in kilograms, you must do 3.18/2.2. 3.18/2.2 is 1.4454 and other numbers or 1.45 when rounded to the nearest hundredth. The bag of rice weighs about 1.45 kilograms.
