Step One

Convert 6 feet to inches

1 foot = 12 inches.

6 feet = x inches           Cross multiply

1*x = 6 * 12

x = 72 inches

Step Two

Find out how long it will take to get the bird's wings to move a distance of 72 inches.

1 second = 12 inches.

x seconds = 72 inches          Cross multiply

12*x = 1 * 72

12x = 72                                  Divide by 12

x = 72/12

x = 6

Solution

It will take all of 6 seconds for the hummingbird to get their wings moving to 6 feet.

Remember PEMDAS - parentheses, exponents, multiply, divide, add, subtract

because multiply come before subtract, your first step would be 1/2 x 2 = 1

next, you subtract -> 15 - 1 = 14

14 is your answer

Answer:

2.4 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

We know the length of segment AB and the length of segment BC. To find their midpoints, we can divide their length by 2.

Let's find the midpoint of AB.

  • Segment AB: 10 cm
  • Midpoint of AB: 10/2 = 5 cm

Next let's find the midpoint of BC.

  • Segment BC: 5.2 cm
  • Midpoint of BC: 5.2/2 = 2.6 cm

In order to find the difference between these midpoints, we can subtract the midpoint of AB by the midpoint of BC.

  • 5 cm - 2.6 cm = 2.4 cm

Therefore, the difference between the midpoints of AB and BC is 2.4 cm.
