For the first 4 buses divide 40 by 8 to get the number of adults for those buses, it should be five.
For the bus with 4/5 of the seats filled you'll first need to find out how many seats 4/5 of the bus would amount to.  To do this multiply 40 by 4/5, you should get 32.  Then you divide 32 by 8 and you'll get 4.
The adults on the 5 buses would be 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 4 = 24.

Quadrilateral HJKL ~ Quadrilateral MPNQ<br><br> Which statements must be true
LenKa [72]

Answer:

m∠K =m∠N

HJ/MP=JK/PN

Step-by-step explanation:

The picture of the question in the attached figure

we know that

if two figures are similar, then the ratio of its corresponding sides is proportional and its corresponding angles are congruent

so

<u><em>Verify each statement</em></u>

case a) we have

m∠K =m∠N

The statement is true

Because, angle K and angle N are corresponding angles, and remember that in similar figures corresponding angles are congruent

case b) we have

HJ≅MP

The statement is false

Segment HJ and segment MP are proportional, not congruent

case c) we have

m∠J≅m∠N

The statement is false

Because angle J and angle N are not corresponding angles

case d) we have

HJ/MP=JK/PN

The statement is true

Because, the ratio of its corresponding sides is proportional

so

\frac{HJ}{MP}=\frac{JK}{PN}=\frac{KL}{NQ}=\frac{HL}{MQ}

The graph below shows the amount of money left in the school’s desk fund, f, after d desks have been purchased.
jeka94

Answer:

$ 110

Step-by-step explanation:

The points on the graph are:

(0, 700), (1, 590), (2, 480), (3, 370), (4, 260), (5, 150), (6, 40)

Since, the x-axis represents the number of desks purchased and y-axis represent the amount left in the fund, the first point in the above pairs represent the number of desks purchased and second point represents the amount left in the funds after purchasing that many desks.

The first pair: (0, 700)

This shows when no desk is purchased the amount in the college fund is $ 700.

The second pair: (1, 590)

This shows when 1 desk is purchased, the amount in the college fund is reduced to $ 590.

So, the decrease in the desk fund after purchasing 1 desk = $700 - $590 = $ 110

Any two pairs from the given ordered points can be used to find this number, the result will be the same in all cases.

So, for each new desk that is purchased, the amount of money left in the school’s desk fund decreased by $ 110.
