The correct answer is D. Was short and successful for the United States.

The Spanish-American War (1898) lasted a very short amount of time. The US and Spain declared war on each other in April of 1898. By August 2nd, of 1898, the Spanish and US were already discussing a treaty to end this war.

How did the enactment of poll taxes and literacy tests impact African Americans?
Anton [14]

Enactment of poll taxes and literacy tests on African Americans was to create voting barriers.

Explanation:

Southern state legislatures mostly employed literacy tests  as part of the voting procedure in order to stop African american from voting. As slavery was well prevalent inn southern states, many slave labors were illiterates and they could not read and write. This was an added advantage to stop them  from voting as they were discriminated on the base of race and ethnicity.

Poll taxes were also inflicted on African Americans in order to not  provide them with suffrage and enfranchisement rights. They were not granted citizenship and they were segregated everywhere which is the worst part inn the American history.
