What is a control group

A control group is the group of people or things you, well control in your experiment. Say you were doing an experiment on the effectiveness of a vitamin, you would gather a group of people and for the sake of this assignment we'll say you have 10 people. You'd give 5 of the 10 people the actual vitamin and have them tell you how they feel and you'd give the other 5 a fake pill that looks like the vitamin that does nothing, and ask them how they feel after taking it. So, the people who actually took the real pill would be your control group because they actually tested the variable. I hope that helps you!
