Whenever they line up they're equivalent. As you can see in the attached file, 1/2, 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, 5/10, and 6/12 are equivalent because they line up.

Answer:

2.82 seconds (3 sf)

Step-by-step explanation:

s = ut + 0.5at²

6 = -95(sin25)t + 0.5(32)t²

16t² - 40.14873487t - 6 = 0

t = 2.818501699, -0.1419193751

t is time so can't be negative.

Therefore, t = 2.82s (3 sf)

Answer:

  • vertical stretch: the function value (f) is multiplied by the stretch factor
  • horizontal stretch: the variable (x) is divided by the stretch factor

Step-by-step explanation:

A stretch can be vertical, horizontal, or both.

Multiplying the function value by a factor greater than 1 will stretch the graph vertically.

Dividing the variable value by a factor greater than 1 will stretch the graph horizontally.

__

The graph is stretched by the factor according to how it is applied.

X - y = 2<br> 4x – 3y = 11
swat32

Answer:

<u><em>For x - y = 2</em></u>

You need to find x or y in one of the equations and then substitute that into the other.

So we have;

x-y=2

4x-3y=11

We will take the first equation and find x;

x-y=2

add y to both sides;

x-y+y=2+y

x=2+y

Now we take that answer and substitute it forx in the other equation;

4(2+y)-3y=11

8+4y-3y=11

8+y=11

y=3

Now we have what y equals, so we use it in the first equation to find x;

x-3=2

x=5

So we have;

x=5; y=3

Hope you understand!

=)

<u><em>And for 4x – 3y = 11</em></u>

Multiply the first equation by 2 and the second by 3 so that there are the same number of y's in each:

8x - 6y = 22    ...(3)

30x + 6y = -3  ...(4)

 Now add (3) and (4) term by term:

38x + 0 = 19

or

38x = 19

or x = 1/2

Put this back into equation (1)

4*(1/2) - 3y = 11

or

2 - 3y = 11

Subtract 2 from both sides:

-3y = 9

 Divide both sides by -3

y = -3

A water balloon is 5 feet above the ground when Sally launches it into the air. Use the quadratic equation 0 = -t^2 + 4t + 5 to
rodikova [14]

Answer:

t=5\ sec

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

-t^{2} +4t+5=0

Solve the quadratic equation to find the zero's or x-intercepts

Remember that

The x-intercepts are the values of x when the value of y is equal to zero ( water balloon reach the ground)

we know that

The formula to solve a quadratic equation of the form ax^{2} +bx+c=0 is equal to

x=\frac{-b(+/-)\sqrt{b^{2}-4ac}} {2a}

in this problem we have

-t^{2} +4t+5=0

so

a=-1\\b=4\\c=5

substitute in the formula

t=\frac{-4(+/-)\sqrt{4^{2}-4(-1)(5)}} {2(-1)}

t=\frac{-4(+/-)\sqrt{36}} {-2}

t=\frac{-4(+/-)6} {-2}

t=\frac{-4(+)6} {-2}=-1

t=\frac{-4(-)6} {-2}=5

therefore

the solution is t=5\ sec
